Richard Lund Memorial Triples 2019

Richard Lund Memorial Triples 2019

Due to our relocation to Ryedale IBC, the entries were reduced to 24 teams utilising our 6 mats to play 4 games each of Triples. With 2 points for a win there were 8 points for any team staying undefeated. The Total points determining the winner, if tied then the shots difference would determine the winner.
The competition drew visitors from both the indoors bowl club and members of the public.

Food was available from Oscars, whose staff worked tirelessly during the day to keep hungry bowlers and visitors fed.

With 2 sessions to play, The Triples of Pat Lawery, Andrew Leng, Rose Haynes and Anne Ridge were undefeated on 6 points each.

After the last session, the Triples of Rose Haynes, Andrew Leng and Pat Lawrey  were undefeated on 8 points each.

After taking into account the shot differences the Final placings were:

  1. Rose Hayes, Mathew Jackson and Paul Whitcombe. 8 Points and a Shot Difference of 68
  2. Andrew Leng, Edrene Rumley and Jim Dawson. 8 Points and a Shot Difference of 41
  3. Pat Lawrey, John eddon and John Dowson. 8 Points and a Shot Difference of 29.

A special mention goes to Bronagh Toleman and her two young players Oliver Todd and Bekir Kaya who finished in 4th place with 7 points.

Julie Lund presented the winners with the Richard Lund Memorial Trophy, and also presented the runners-up prizes.

“Thank you to all the helpers and players who have made the day special once again. I hope you all enjoyed it.
Best wishes
Julie”
